When I pass through the gate of an old apartment house in Budapest, it always feels like embarking on an exciting adventure. You never quite know what’s waiting on the other side, and that’s why I enjoy exploring and documenting the architectural heritage of this beautiful city so much. The courtyards often surprise with their beauty, featuring greenery and character that defy the expectations set by the street view. The staircases, with their unique designs, feel like hidden treasures.
So far, I have explored and photographed over 1500 historical residential buildings in Budapest. However, what I do goes beyond just taking photos, I also research interesting stories and anecdotes linked to the buildings in order to make the past more tangible and to pay tribute to those who lived here before us
My first photobook was published in September 2025. It brings together a selection of Budapest’s most captivating historical residential buildings, many shown for the first time. If you enjoy discovering hidden architectural gems and the stories behind them, this book is for you. You can order it from the editor’s website, with worldwide shipping available.
