Nestled in Futó utca, a small street in Józsefváros, the 8th district of Budapest, lies one of the most exquisite examples of art deco architecture. Constructed between 1929 and 1930, this building was envisioned by Aladár Halász, who, upon its completion, moved into one of the flats with his family. In the early 2000s, the structure faced considerable deterioration. However, in 2003, it earned recognition as a protected architectural site from the authorities, leading to its renovation in the subsequent years. Though I had the opportunity to explore its interior a few years ago, my recollections are faint. I plan to revisit soon and share some photos with you.
